On June 14th, 2018, City Hall Plaza was the home of the 6th annual Boston TechJam. This event looks to feature all types of technology businesses, from entrepreneurs and startups, to established tech companies and higher learning institutions in an effort to come together to celebrate their work and have fun. In a combination tech block party, innovation showcase, and live music concert, Boston Tech Jam helps to connect the entire technology community in the Greater Boston area to celebrate their achievements and the local startup economy.
This year TechJam had a special area focused on robotics and IoT companies, aptly named “Be the Future” Village. Along with MassRobotics, some of our partners, like Autodesk, MathWorks, and Harmonic Drive were in attendance, as well as residents and supporters from the MITRE team. Each booth was different, either showcasing a type of robot, playing games with the attendants, or simply letting people know more about their company.
This year, MassRobotics used one of our Universal Arms as a rotating ring toss. Attendants could attempt to get a ring on the moving arm for a chance to win a colorful robot ring, or by following up on Twitter @MassRobotics. Everyone had lots of fun, cheering each other on in a display of tech comradery.
It was such a great day to be surrounded by our fellow robotics companies and to enjoy all the event had to offer while representing the growth and strength of the robotics industry. Along with some of Boston’s best food trucks, music, and companies this day was certainly one to remember. For more pictures from the event, check out this Boston Business Journal article.
