RoboXchange
February 1 @ 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm
By invitation only*
The RoboXchange series is designed to foster collaboration between Massachusetts professors, startups, industry, and international counterparts in the field of robotics and artificial intelligence.
The inaugural event will feature presentations on Building a brain, Building a Robot, and Challenges of deploying robots in the real world.
- Building a brain: Professor James Marshall – University of Sheffield, UK & CSO/Cofounder Opteran will present a differentiated approach to autonomy based on a holistic understanding of the brain. James will show how traditional AI poorly imitates a portion of the human brain and that the secret to creating “thinking” machines lies in copying the brains of simple organisms such as insects. He will tie theory with practice by discussing how this “Natural Intelligence” approach can create robust and efficient autonomy for machines in the real world.
- Building a robot: [Speaker to be confirmed]- A thought leader in Applied Robotics bringing more than 20 years experience across industry and academia will provide practical insights generated by leading the design of one the industry’s leading AMRs.
- Real world operations: Steve Branch, Locus Robotics Vice President of Sales Engineering, will discuss unexpected challenges when deploying autonomous robots in a warehouse environment.
