Southie Autonomy

Focus: Hardware or Software, Software. While robotics is a highly integrated hardware and software system, Southie focuses on the software side of robots as this is where the bulk of the adoption gaps can be solved. Today’s hardware is highly optimized and robust, but it requires so much NRE to get working. So, Southie aims to reduce the complexity and skill required to deploy and changeover robots, creating a new way to see ROI on robots. A multi-purpose, no-code robotic system that line operators can use and reuse. included every autonomous system you could think of, from underwater robots to aerial drones to joint R&D with MIT and Harvard to advance autonomous mobile manipulation. As engineers we built autonomous systems that would satisfy the user’s mission and the user knew what they wanted the system to do, but there was a disconnect in how the user directed and understood what the system was doing. Basically, there was a fundamental gap that we later learned was an adoption gap between user and robotic system. It turns out that you can use that same exact lens to look at the industrial robotics sector and you’ll find the same exact problem. There is a huge gap between the people who want to use robots (e.g. warehouse workers and operators) and who can actually deploy robotic systems (e.g. automation engineers). So, Southie has created a new way for humans and robots to talk to other (i.e. at the task level instead of instructions). The result is we’ve bridged the gap by letting operations users task robots at the operational level, instead of at the engineering level.

idealworks GmbH

As a deep-tech company and 100% BMW Group subsidiary, idealworks has been enabling the logistics of the future by providing the most flexible and scalable robotics ecosystem since November 2020. Having come about as a result of a forward-thinking planning condition within the BMW Group’s Logistics department back in 2015, our company combines numerous years of valuable experience and expertise in the field of smart, reliable intralogistics solutions. When BMW Group was awarded the German Logistics Award 2019 for its project Logistics Next, which included one of our core products, we saw a huge boost in terms of autonomous robots with national and international companies from all kinds of different industries and branches showing interest in exploring our solutions built for both the challenging environment and limitations of automotive logistics to meet common needs and to squeeze out greater efficiency.
At idealworks, we enable holistic robotics ecosystems, consisting of two key components: Our central cloud platform AnyFleet is connecting our fleet of robots and third-party devices as well as computer systems and IoT devices such as doors, sensors, and traffic lights, but also WMS and ERP systems. Based on VDA 5050, AnyFleet is acting as a fleet management system allowing for live monitoring of all integrated devices, systems, and vehicles, handling complex traffic situations. Our CE-certified autonomous mobile robot, the iw.hub, is another integral part of our solutions portfolio. Using SLAM, the AMR navigates autonomously and is able to operate safely in highly complex environments, covering a wide range of individual customer needs. We embrace innovation, through in-house development and partnerships, seizing opportunities and fostering our competitive advantage, being on a clear mission creating real impact, running productively with more than 300 units in use at customer sites from a variety of industries.

HiveGround

We are a tech start-up company dedicated to create value and success through robotic innovation to leverage current and future industrial performance.
We emphasize on robotic researches (Sensor,Localization,Control,Vision,Artificial Intelligent etc.) and daily-life robotic usage (eg. Household security robot,Unmanned Automated Vehicle for Agricultural,Unmanned Automated Vehicle for Survey). Moreover we also develop software to monitor and control systematically through continuous improvement driven by teamwork, people’s talent and innovation.

Burro

We’ve built a smarter farming system using user-friendly, autonomous robots that work side-by-side (farmworkers to make agriculture more productive and sustainable. Each Burro increases the productivity of a 6 to 10 person harvest-crew by 10% to 40%+ while simultaneously laying the base for more autonomy where it is needed most.

BotBuilt

BotBuilt creates sustainable, affordable housing components by leveraging robotic labor in a climate-controlled factory setting.

Airrow

At Airrow we are enabling a new type of powerful drone workforce by addressing the current limitations in the drone market around automation, range, and endurance.
We are building the future autonomous infrastructure of tomorrow that can easily be customized and integrated for various industries.
The universal approach we take (our drone platform (Dronehub) allows for collaboration across the market sector. Our Dronehub will push the boundaries of what drones can achieve in the current industry.

AK Robotics

A&K Robotics has developed an intelligent navigation system that transforms manual machines into self-driving robots.
We design and build helpful robots and want to change the world through automation.
A&K Robotics is a close-knit team of scientists, entrepreneurs, artists and engineers (a shared sense of curiosity and purpose. We care about what we do and we have fun doing it. We are creative, out-of-the-box thinkers that value diverse perspectives and we believe that interdisciplinary collaboration is fundamental to building robots for people.
