Governor Karyn Polito and House Speaker Robert DeLeo visited our robotics innovation space to learn about our startups who took advantage of the MassTech Intern Partnership program and hear from the interns about what they worked on. Cleo Robotics: building the world’s first indoor friendly drone for applications such as law enforcement, surveying, security, and warehousing. Current drones are not suitable for indoor operation because they’re large and dangerous. Cleo solved these problems with their proprietary technology that allowed them to create a new type of drone that is much safer, more compact, and more power efficient. Intern is from Northeastern University studying Bio Engineering with a minor in robotics
Autonodyne: designs and builds systems to enable autonomous flight for both civil and defense applications, specializing in control stations, mission computers, autonomy software and augmented reality for airborne operations. Interns from Northeastern University studying Software Engineering

Watchtower: manufactures and designs robots for water pipe inspection. Intern from the Harvard Business School (prior engineer)
Southie Autonomy: building intelligent robot software that enables any industrial robot to be re-purposed and re-deployed by any worker, even those without robotics expertise or even computer skills. Interns from WPI studying robotics, Wentworth mechanical engineer and Boston University computer science.
NODAR: makes reliable and low-cost 3D optical sensors for self-driving cars — think iPhone X Face ID 3D sensing — except now at ultra-long range. Intern from Boston University studying Computer Science
Greensight: robotics-as-a-service company focused on unmanned aerospace products and technology. The company has built the first practical, scalable enterprise platform that uses full automated cloud connected drones combined with machine learning to generate actionable business intelligence. The complete platform includes the industry’s longest endurance industrial drone (60+ minutes), a proprietary camera system which includes thermal imaging, the industry’s fastest turnaround image processing pipeline and unique machine learning classification developed specifically for aerial imagery.
