This year’s RoboBoston returned bigger and better than ever, held in the heart of Boston’s Seaport on September 27-28, 2024. As one of the largest celebrations of its kind, RoboBoston showcased cutting-edge robotics technology from more than 50 companies, universities, and student teams, all united in Boston’s vibrant innovation hub. With perfect weather over the two-day event, RoboBoston brought together students, families, tech enthusiasts and professionals in record numbers, featuring over 400 students on STEM Day and over 6,500 attendees for the Robot Block Party.

Day 1: STEM Day – Inspiring the Next Generation of Innovators

The event kicked off Friday, September 27, with STEM Field Trips, where over 400 students from grades 7-12 gathered for a day of hands-on robotics learning. This immersive event offered interactive activities and live demonstrations that introduced students to the world of robotics.

From underwater robotic vehicles and robotic arms to a robot playing chess and flying bionic birds, the students experienced firsthand the diverse applications of robotics technology. The event, fully booked in advance, provided an exciting opportunity for young learners to engage with robotics in ways that can inspire future careers in STEM.

Technical Career Fair

Our annual Robotics and AI Career Fair brought together companies looking for talent and over 1500 job seekers.  Attendees ranged from seasoned engineers to students interested in summer internships.

VIP Reception – Fostering Connections in Robotics

Friday evening featured a VIP networking reception sponsored by J.P. Morgan, and hosted by Goodwin Proctor, where senior leaders from the robotics sector gathered to discuss the latest trends and breakthroughs. The reception, by invitation only, provided an opportunity for networking, collaboration and celebrating the achievements within the robotics community.

Day 2: Robot Parade and Block Party – A Spectacle of Innovation

The second day of RoboBoston was a celebration for all ages and began with the a Robot Sidewalk Parade featuring robots rolling, walking, and crawling down Seaport Blvd, making its way to the entrance to the Block Party. The parade led into a ceremonial ribbon-cutting, officially opening the Robot Block Party.

The 7th annual Robot Block Party brought more than 6,000 attendees—families, students, and tech enthusiasts. Robotics companies, startups, and universities showcased their latest innovations, allowing visitors to get up close and personal with cutting-edge technology. Drones, robotic dogs, robot chess player, various grippers, underwater robots and even flying bionic bees were just a few of the exciting technologies on display. Attendees could fly a drone through an obstacle course, drive an underwater robot, tackle a robot “dummy”, and control robotic arms, all while getting a taste of the future.

Over a dozen high school student teams showcased their previous year’s competition robots.  They participated in the robot parade and held mini competitions in an arena inside one of the large tents.

Thank you to all who participated and attended the event, proving that Boston is at the forefront of the robotics revolution with a community eager to embrace and shape the future of technology.  As the event continues to grow, both in size and impact, RoboBoston has become known as a premier destination for anyone passionate about robotics, STEM education and technological advancements.

A huge thank you to our sponsors including:

Thanks also to annual sponsors EF Explore America and the MITRE Corporation, as well as this year’s supporters Arrow and Worcester Polytechnic Institute, all of who made the event possible.
