MassRobotics is home to dozens of individual startups with robotic and supporting technology ranging from agriculture, underwater, drones, medical, consumer, DoD-centric and first responder projects. Resident startups in our space are from around the country and around the world, working to advance their robotics and artificial technologies. (We do not fund nor take equity in our resident startups.)

Activ Surgical

Activ Surgical is a digital surgery innovator, with patent issued and FDA clearance for ActivSight Intraoperative Imaging Module for enhanced surgical visualization.  They are building hardware-agnostic surgical software that allows minimally invasive surgical systems to autonomously collaborate with surgeons.

AirShare

AirShare designs and manufactures systems to detect, track, and mitigate threats from wayward and malicious drones. AirShare’s OVERWATCH® Interceptor-UX is a lightweight, 3d-printed guided missile which disperses a non-lethal cloud of propeller-fouling countermeasures to safely remove threats from small drones in urban areas and conflict zones. AirShare has received over $1M in contracts for its Interceptor-UX missiles from the Canadian Special Forces.

Animo Robotics

Animo robotics is founded by MIT graduates with the goal of creating cost-effective multi-purpose robots. Their key innovation is in new designs for the most important component of a multi-purpose robot: the hands.

Apparel Robotics Corporation

Apparel Robotics Corporation is a Boston-based robotics and advanced manufacturing startup. Founded in 2022 Apparel Robotics is leading the charge towards a new era of autonomous clothing manufacturing by solving the key problem – material handling of fabrics. Manipulating deformable objects with robots is hard. We develop solutions to make it easy.

Ascend Robotics

Smart collaborative robots, AI and perception for safe part handling and precision kitting.

ATDev

ATDev is a UC Berkeley spinout building the future of mobility. We develop cutting edge robotic devices to enable people with physical injuries and disabilities to live independent lives.

Aura Intelligent Systems

Cleo

Cleo Robotics is building the world’s first indoor friendly drone for applications such as law enforcement, surveying, security, and warehousing. Gaia AI

Gaia AI offers a forest data platform that uses our backpack-based sensor suite (LiDAR and computer vision) to identify the volume and species of trees from below canopy measurements which we then combine with satellite imagery to scale our measurements to wide areas of forest. With this data, we help timber companies make data-informed decisions, from valuing new land to purchase, to better plan for timber harvests, to verifying forest carbon credits.

GreenSight

GreenSight is a dynamic, funded startup developing fully automated drone systems and a wide variety of related hardware and software. They offer commercial drone-based services of golf courses, vineyards, and other commercial customers. They also develop highly advanced technical solutions built around autonomous vehicles and AI software for both commercial and US government customers.

Haply Robotics

Haply Robotics is a team of experts in the fields of robotics, engineering, and haptic technology working together to research, design, and build innovative haptic robotic products. Haply Robotics designs and manufactures the inverse3, a precision 3D mouse capable of providing precise touch feedback down to the millinewton scale. This touch-enabled mouse can be used in the field of design to empower artists, engineers, architects, and game designers to create more realistic 3D content in the emerging 3D digital world.

Hathaway Robotics

We utilize 3D printing technology to build a variety of modular heavy-duty UGVs and AMRs. Our main areas of focus are the manufacturing industry and warehouse automation. Hathaway’s AI division provides software packages to convert existing UGVs to AMRs.

Haystack Ag

Haystack Ag provides cost-effective and highly accurate soil measurement solutions for farmers and soil carbon offset markets. Human-Robotix

HyperVend

iSPARK SRL

LMI Technologies (Formerly Fringe AI)

NeXtera

NeXtera Robotics was created by a team of MIT engineers and is innovating construction through robotics and automation solutions. NeXtera provides robots for construction site as-built laser scanning, floor layout painting, as well as floor and walls prefab mini-factories that can be deployed on a construction site.

Onyx Robotics

Onyx Robotics is on a mission to lower the cost of high-performance robot hardware. Their core technology is a new variable gearbox that can dynamically adjust its gear reduction during robot operation, allowing robots to amplify speed or payload for the task at hand.

The AIT Austrian Institute of Technology

The AIT Austrian Institute of Technology is Austria’s largest applied research institute. UnOrthoDOKS Technologies develops wearable robotic orthoses for knee rehabilitation for people with early- to mid-stage knee arthritis. Our flagship product is an assistive orthosis with built-in resistance training technology for dynamic resistance and power-assist in routine activities.

We, at untill, are farmers, tinkerers, salad obsessives, and problem solvers who like to get our hands dirty. URBX

URBX is a third-party logistics company that specializes in highly flexible order fulfillment and last mile delivery for e-commerce business.

Vision Cycle

Vision Cycle and our Vision Valve technology is a new approach to large-scale industrial waste to resources recovery. We combine Computer Vision/ML + Robotics to tackle currently intractable problems in recovering resources from waste streams. Vision Valve that can automatically identify, actively count, and enable target particles’ new sorting abilities in fluids.

WiBotic

WiBotic provides wireless charging and power optimization solutions that are integral to charging the rapidly growing ecosystem of aerial, mobile, marine and industrial robots.
